Job Summary
Check in individuals arriving for appointments, schedule and reschedule visits, and collect payment for services. Answer and screen phone calls, take messages, provide information, and transfer callers to the appropriate department. Update information in medical records, scan documents, and mail letters while working closely with community partners to ensure prompt triage. This position supports all Behavioral Health teams to meet individual needs and requires cross-training in multiple clinic settings. You will handle multiple tasks, utilize Microsoft Word and Excel, and apply knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurance billing practices.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- 3 years' experience working in a medical office, agency, or hospital with knowledge of scheduling, insurance verification, billing and collections
- Bilingual
- Knowledge and experience in performing office duties
- Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks
- Must be knowledgeable in computer programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel
- Must be professional and knowledgeable of customer service skills
- Must be Knowledgeable of Medicaid, Medicare, and Private Insurance billing Practices
- Proficiency in Data collection, Reporting, Graphs, and Documentation
