Job Summary
Assist customers inside and outside a U-Haul center with products and services while using smartphone-based U-Scan technology to manage rentals and inventory. Move and hook up trucks and trailers, then clean and inspect equipment on the lot, including checking fluid levels. Answer customer questions, prepare rental invoices, and accept returned equipment. Install hitches and trailer wiring, fill propane, and drive a forklift. Participate in ongoing education through U-Haul University. This closing shift role requires a valid driver's license and involves moderate physical exertion.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to maintain a good driving record
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be able to lift equipment weighing a minimum of 50 lbs
- Must be able to move equipment weighing a minimum of 50 lbs
- Must be able to move around indoors and outdoors
- Must be able to position oneself to reach objects at varying heights
- Must be able to remain stationary for long periods
- Must be able to work around moving parts or machines
- Must be able to work around fumes or irritant chemicals
- Must be able to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves or shields
- Must be able to use up-to-date technology
- Must be able to use smartphone-based U-Scan technology
- Must be able to move and hook up U-Haul trucks and trailers
- Must be able to clean and inspect equipment on the lot
- Must be able to check fluid levels
- Must be able to answer questions and educate customers regarding products and services
- Must be able to prepare rental invoices
- Must be able to accept equipment returned from rental
