Job Summary
Customer Service Representative at Chevron Stations Inc (CSI) in Castro Valley, CA. Provide exceptional guest service, handle point-of-sale transactions across retail and fuel sales, maintain cash drawer and perform cashier reconciliation, ensure food safety and sanitation per local regulations, monitor product levels and assist with store promotions, and adhere to CSI safety, security, and loss prevention processes. Requires English proficiency, ability to work varied shifts (including evenings, weekends, holidays), strong attention to detail, teamwork and independent work capability, and, in certain locations, up-to-date food handling certificates; cooking/restaurant experience preferred. Compensation ranges from $19.25 to $20.25 per hour with full-time and part-time shift availability. This is a U.S.-based role with no visa sponsorship and location-specific requirements for age in some states.
Required Qualifications
- Must be sufficiently proficient in English to understand policies, safety training, and job instructions and to effectively communicate with customers and coworkers
- Available to work a variety of hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends, overnight shifts, and holidays
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to handle challenging situations professionally and exercise exceptional judgement
- Ability to work independently and in team settings
- Must possess up-to-date food handling certificates, as required by law (in specific locations only)
- Cooking/Restaurant experience preferred
Additional Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older to work in California and Oregon locations
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older to work in Washington locations
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older to work Graveyard shift from 10pm to 6am
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older to work in Management positions
