Job Summary
Assist customers inside and outside a U-Haul center with products and services using smartphone-based U-Scan technology to manage rentals and inventory. Move and hook up trucks and trailers, while cleaning, inspecting equipment on the lot, and checking fluid levels. Answer customer questions, educate them on services, prepare rental invoices, and accept returned equipment. Install hitches and trailer wiring, fill propane, and drive a forklift. Participate in ongoing continuous education through U-Haul University. This position offers on-the-job education and certification for propane filling and forklift operation.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to maintain a good driving record
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be able to lift equipment weighing a minimum of 50 lbs
- Must be able to move equipment weighing a minimum of 50 lbs
- Must be able to move around indoors and outdoors
- Must be able to position oneself to reach objects at varying heights
- Must be able to remain stationary for long periods
- Must be able to work around moving parts or machines
- Must be able to work around fumes or irritant chemicals
- Must be able to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves or shields
- Must not use nicotine products
- Must be able to work in Alabama
