Job Summary
Customer Service Representative to support ThompsonGas growth by focusing on customer retention, new customer acquisition and customer support. The role handles inbound and outbound sales and customer support calls, data entry, and billing in a fast-paced environment, requiring professionalism, warmth, and effective communication. Responsibilities include probing questions to uncover sales opportunities, evaluating sales methods, addressing inquiries (pricing, billing, products, grievances, new account setup), maintaining knowledge of ThompsonGas products/services, ensuring policy compliance related to safety, providing order-status information, leading outbound calls to collect past-due accounts, updating customer accounts in CARGAS and MPX, processing payments, handling driver paperwork, and performing other duties as assigned. Emphasis on customer experience, upselling, and maintaining high-quality customer interactions; OT/weekend availability may be required during busy seasons.
Required Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent experience required
- 3+ years of Customer Service experience (Call center experience preferred)
- Sales experience strongly preferred; ability to upsell products in highly competitive environment a must
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office and data entry skills
- Ability to organize, multi-task and prioritize assignments in a fast-paced environment
- High level of ownership and accountability for resolving customer problems in a professional and enthusiastic manner
- This is a safety sensitive position with pre-employment drug screening
Desired Qualifications
- 3+ years of Customer Service experience (Call center experience preferred)
- Sales experience strongly preferred; ability to upsell products
- Experience with data entry and Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of billing and order status processes
- Familiarity with CARGAS and MPX systems (preferred)
- Flexible to work OT and weekends as needed during busy season
