Job Summary
Interview and profile new and existing customers to recommend banking products, then open and close accounts including checking, savings, money markets, certificates of deposit, and IRAs. Process daily teller services such as deposits, withdrawals, transfers, direct deposits, and wire transfers while independently balancing cash drawers and managing vault cash. Partner with business lines to identify sales opportunities, cross-sell products, and meet referral goals. Resolve difficult situations with diplomacy, support branch lobby management, and participate in two community events annually. Perform branch balancing, audit functions, and supply orders while maintaining thorough knowledge of bank products and services.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years cash handling and customer service experience
- Banking experience
- Some experience in opening new deposit accounts
- Demonstrated success in cross-selling banking services and products
- Strong customer relations skills and ability to communicate and work well with employees and customers in a cooperative, positive manner
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- PC experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be a self-starter
- Dependable
- Ability to work within deadlines under pressure
- Good judgment
- Ability to accept responsibility and handle confidential information
- Ability to work quickly and accurately
- Ability to analyze information and make decisions
- Willingness to assume additional responsibilities/duties/projects as they arise
Desired Qualifications
