Job Summary
Operate all equipment, stock ingredients from delivery areas to storage and walk-in coolers, and prepare products. Receive and process telephone and in-person orders while taking inventory and completing associated paperwork. Clean equipment and facility daily, handling varying weather conditions and extreme temperatures ranging from 36 degrees in coolers to over 90 degrees in work areas. Manage tasks involving fumes from food odors, cornmeal dust, and hot surfaces up to 500 degrees, while maintaining precise motor coordination for rapid order processing.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions
- Ability to communicate verbally with customers and co-workers to process orders both over the phone and in person
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly (may use calculator)
- Must be able to make correct monetary change
- Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders
- Motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers to rapidly and accurately make precise movements with speed
- Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen
- Must be able to work in varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions when removing trash and performing other outside tasks
- Must be able to work in in-store temperatures ranging from 36 degrees in cooler to 90 degrees and above in some work areas
- Must be able to work with sudden changes in temperature in work area and while outside
- Must be able to work with fumes from food odors
- Must be able to work in cramped quarters including walk-in cooler
- Must be able to work with hot surfaces/tools from oven up to 500 degrees or higher
- Must be able to work with sharp edges and moving mechanical parts
