Job Summary
Greet customers promptly, handle merchandise with care, and provide product recommendations based on customer needs. Secure firearms with trigger locks, check in vendor representatives, and complete visitor log information. Process returns, refunds, and exchanges while sorting items by category. Sell hunting and fishing licenses, administer incentive programs, and promote club memberships and in-store pickup options. Maintain a clean, well-stocked work area and stay current on advertised sales and company policies. Assist customers in making buying decisions by evaluating their needs and promoting relevant programs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent experience
- Ability to calculate figures such as discounts and make change to customers
- Ability to communicate in a friendly and professional manner to our customers and other associates
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Management, coworkers and customers
- Ability to operate computerized Point of Sale register system
- Must be able to constantly stand and/or walk during shift
- Must be able to constantly communicate with others to exchange information
- Must be able to constantly repeat motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
- Must be able to occasionally ascend or descend ladders, stairs, ramps, etc.
- Must be able to occasionally work in low or high temperatures
- Must be able to occasionally work in noisy environments
- Must be able to light work that includes constantly lifting and moving objects up to 20 pounds
- Must be able to occasionally move and lift objects up to 100 pounds or more (utilizing a team lift as needed)
- Must be able to perform tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation
- Must be able to choose from limited alternatives to resolve problems
- Must be able to make occasional independent judgment to complete work assignments
- Must be able to often make recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices
- Must be able to secure all firearms brought into the store with trigger locks
- Must be able to check in all Vendor representatives, completing the necessary visitor log information and controlling the visitor badges
- Must be able to greet all customers as they enter the store in a friendly and outgoing manner
- Must be able to handle customer's merchandise returns; complete refund / exchange paperwork
- Must be able to sort returns by category and return to proper area
- Must be able to sell appropriate Hunting and Fishing Licenses
- Must be able to handle and administer all incentive and reward programs
- Must remain product knowledgeable
- Must remain aware of advertised sales
- Must be able to keep work area clean, neat and well stocked with supplies
- Must be able to follow all Company Policies and Procedures
- Must be able to assist customers in making buying decisions by identifying and evaluating customers' needs
- Must be able to make product recommendations based off this analysis
- Must be able to promote programs including, but not limited to CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up
