Job Summary
Conduct daily sales and customer service duties by ensuring the sales floor stays runway ready through re-merchandising and straightening. Assist customers with cashiering transactions across in-store, online, and mobile platforms, including operating point-of-sale systems, bagging items, and handling bulky merchandise. Create a smooth fitting room experience by greeting guests, assisting them, and sorting or returning clothing to the floor. Maintain a clean, clutter-free environment by organizing stockrooms, checking in merchandise, and accurately ticketing items. Support stock and fulfillment operations by receiving freight, unloading, and delivering newly arrived merchandise to selling departments. Prepare and ship customer orders following quality standards while utilizing inventory management systems to process shipments. Adhere to all operational, merchandise, and asset protection standards while promoting initiatives like the Nordstrom Rewards program.
Required Qualifications
- Clear, effective communication with strong interpersonal skills

- The ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs
- Continuous movement for 6-8 hours per shift
- Frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing and reaching
- Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
- Handle bulky and sometimes awkwardly shaped items
- Reaching for and lifting items above the head
- Regularly lift items weighing up to 10 pounds
- Occasionally lift items up to 25 pounds
- Frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds
- Occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Demonstrate expertise in all technologies used in the store environment
- Adhere to all operational, merchandise and asset protection standards
- Assist customers when cashiering with a variety of transactions across different platforms (in-store, online and mobile)
- Operating a point-of-sale system
- Bagging items of all size
- Handling bulky sometimes heavy items including boxes
- Ensure a seamless and friendly experience
