Customer Service Center Assistant Terminal Manager

Job Summary
Conduct 24/7 on-call support for Terminal and Dispatch operations, managing schedules for drivers and office staff across all shifts including holidays. Monitor daily dispatch functions, fill in as Dispatcher when needed, and oversee inventory levels for several large accounts. Directly communicate with customers regarding dispatch service, investigate cargo loss and damage claims, and maintain the budgeted driver-to-truck ratio. Manage office staff and drivers, assign equipment, and train new dispatchers while ensuring proper communications between shifts. Collaborate with the Terminal Manager on budgetary goals and adhere to Customer Care Program compliance. This role requires a 6-month training period and willingness to relocate within the network.
Required Qualifications
- On-call 24/7 for Terminal/Dispatch support
- Scheduling both drivers & office staff (days, nights, wknds, holidays)
- Daily monitoring of dispatch function, fill in as Dispatcher when needed
- Management of office staff members and drivers
- Overseeing maintenance of inventory levels for several large accounts
- Assignment of equipment to driver force
- Direct communication with customers regarding dispatch service
- Responsible for Customer Care Program and compliance
- Investigation of Customer Cargo Loss/Damage claims
- Working closely with the Terminal Manager regarding budgetary goals
- Maintaining budgeted Driver vs. Truck ratio
- Training of new dispatchers
- Ensure proper communications between dispatchers and shift changes
- Minimum 1-3 years of management experience required
- Minimum 2 years transportation and/or fuel experience required
- ATM position is expected to train for 6 mos and willing to relocate as a Terminal Manager within one of our network locations
Desired Qualifications
- 2 year college degree preferred, but not required
