Job Summary
Customer Service Agent at American Airlines, based at Albuquerque International Sunport. Responsibilities include issuing, reissuing and refunding passenger tickets; booking, ticketing, and confirming flight reservations; rebooking passengers during irregular operations; check-in and seat assignments; handling boarding procedures; coordinating with contractors for hotel, meals, and transportation; facilitating passenger boarding and document handling; operating gate readers, jetways, and kiosks; assisting with special needs and unaccompanied minors; providing service during security/emergency situations; adherence to DOT, FAA, TSA guidelines and company policies; regular on-site attendance with mandatory overtime as required. Starting pay is $19.64 per hour. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and FAA background checks; preferred qualifications include Sabre or other Passenger Service System experience and prior customer service experience.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or international equivalent
- Bilingual language skills required in some locations
- Applicable valid driver’s license as required by local authorities
- Must fulfill FAA criminal background checks to qualify for unescorted access privileges to airport security identification display areas (SIDA), if applicable
- Must be able to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges, if applicable
- Completion of a pre-employment drug screen, comprehensive background check and/or fingerprinting to satisfy company and security requirements
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
