Job Summary

Verify documentation for driver license, motor vehicle, vessel, and mobile home tag and title processing, hunting and fishing licenses, real estate taxes, and business taxes. Perform data entry on the Division of Motor Vehicles state computer system for vehicle registrations and license plates, process title transfers and duplicate requests, and administer onsite road tests. Provide basic license plate information and issue handicapped parking permits while accepting multiple payment forms and reconciling cash drawers. Maintain inventory control of license plates and decals, file correspondence, and answer telephones. Work in a climate-controlled office environment with moderate foot traffic, standing or sitting for extended periods, and ride in vehicles to conduct physical driving tests.

Required Qualifications

  • 18 years of age or older
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Possess and maintain a valid Class E or above Florida Driver License in good standing
  • Passing County and Federal background check
  • Computer literacy to include data entry, Internet knowledge, word processing and familiarity with Microsoft Windows applications
  • One to two years of customer service experience in an office environment, retail sales, or customer service/cash handling field, or an equivalent combination of related education, training or college level coursework that includes finance, accounting, business, or computer courses necessary to perform the essential job functions
  • Aptitude for customer service, both in-person and by telephone, with the disposition to serve customers promptly and timely
  • Ability to focus and concentrate on work assignments and tasks with attention to detail
  • Competency to read and accurately interpret documents, forms, statutes and other materials
  • Ability to correctly make mathematical computations using addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Ability to identify and safeguard confidential customer information
  • Possess a spirit of caring and passion for serving others
  • Capacity to adhere to state and federal regulations within scope of duties, while acting as an advocate for the customer when applying rules, laws and regulations therein
  • Demonstrates verbal and written communication skills for interacting with the public and co-workers in an effective, kind and courteous manner
  • Ability to work in a climate controlled environment with a moderate noise level typical of normal business office with computers, printers and light to heavy foot traffic
