Job Summary
Provide front-line passenger support and assistance at airports before and after boarding flights, ensuring the passenger experience meets organizational standards and Canadian Transportation Agency regulations. Deliver curbside-to-curb service, make and change flight reservations in the computerized system, check in passengers and baggage, and calculate additional fees. Issue boarding passes, itineraries, and seating assignments, assist pre-boarding passengers for safe movement to and from aircraft, and provide information on fares, schedules, and routes via person or telephone. Facilitate safe movement between aircraft and terminal buildings and perform other duties as required. Shift work includes mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Ability to learn a computerized reservation system
- Basic Computer skills (word, excel, office)
- Must have exceptional customer service skills
- Must be able to work independently or in a team setting
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure
- Must have own transportation to and from work
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an Enhanced Security Clearance qualification
- Must be able to attend and complete initial Ground School Training
- Must be able to work independently as well as part of a skilled team
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Shift work
- mornings/afternoons, evenings, and weekends
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) an asset
- Knowledge of an airline's operations an asset
- Preference given to Inuit Land Claims Beneficiaries
- Inuktitut and/or Inuinnaqtun language considered an asset
