Job Summary
On-site Customer Reliability Engineer/Technical Specialist at a Cedar Rapids, IA customer facility. You will evaluate seal and equipment applications, make recommendations for MTBR improvement with oversight from sales or regional engineers, direct installation and commissioning of mechanical seals and their support systems, collect and analyze data using reliability software, maintain equipment surveys, and provide technical counseling and training to customers and plant personnel. You may lead customer reliability personnel, participate in presentations to customers or management, support the Management of Change process, and travel as needed to support assignments.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering preferred
- Experience with mechanical seals and rotating equipment
- Knowledge of reliability concepts and MTBR improvement
- Proficiency with MS Office and basic PC skills
- Ability to perform installation and commissioning of mechanical seals and supporting systems
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and internal stakeholders
- Willingness to travel as needed
- Experience with continuous improvement activities (e.g., Kaizen, SMED, Lean) is a plus
