Job Summary
Greet and acknowledge all customers in a prompt, friendly manner while handling merchandise with care. Secure firearms with trigger locks and check in vendor representatives by completing visitor logs and controlling badges. Process returns by completing refund/exchange paperwork, sorting items by category, and restocking areas. Sell hunting and fishing licenses and administer incentive and reward programs. Assist customers in making buying decisions by identifying needs, making product recommendations, and promoting club memberships and in-store pickup. Maintain a clean, well-stocked work area and remain product knowledgeable regarding advertised sales. Perform these duties while standing, walking, and lifting objects up to 20 pounds constantly, with occasional lifts up to 100 pounds. Starting pay is $15.00–$17.75 for part-time hours.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent experience
- Ability to calculate figures such as discounts and make change to customers
- Ability to communicate in a friendly and professional manner to our customers and other associates
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Management, coworkers and customers
- Ability to operate computerized Point of Sale register system
- Must be able to constantly stand and/or walk during shift
- Must be able to constantly communicate with others to exchange information
- Must be able to constantly repeat motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
- Must be able to occasionally ascend or descend ladders, stairs, ramps, etc.
- Must be able to occasionally work in low or high temperatures
- Must be able to occasionally work in noisy environments
- Must be able to light work that includes constantly lifting and moving objects up to 20 pounds
- Must be able to occasionally move and lift objects up to 100 pounds or more (utilizing a team lift as needed)
- Must be able to perform tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation
- Must be able to choose from limited alternatives to resolve problems
- Must be able to make occasional independent judgment to complete work assignments
- Must be able to often make recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices
