Job Summary
Customer Quality Engineer at ZF in Hebron, KY, focuses on driving product quality from design through production within a collaborative, cross-functional team. Responsibilities include developing Process and Design FMEAs, recommending design/manufacturing method changes, providing technical support for manufacturing defects, analyzing warranty and returned parts, improving customer satisfaction through corrective actions, leading root-cause analysis with suppliers, ensuring QAAs with suppliers, and leading PPAP and CQP tasks. Requires a engineering degree or equivalent, 3+ years in manufacturing quality, SAP experience (preferred), and strong use of automotive quality tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, 8D). Knowledge of ISO/IATF standards and ability to interpret technical drawings, with emphasis on cross-functional collaboration and problem-solving.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent professional experience
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in quality within a manufacturing environment
- Experience with SAP, particularly warehouse or manufacturing modules, preferred
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in core automotive quality standards and tools, including APQP, PPAP (AIAG), PPA (VDA 2), SPC, MSA, FMEA, and root cause analysis methods (8D, Pareto, Fault Tree Analysis)
- Knowledge of quality management systems and auditing standards, including ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and ISO 19011
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes, product lifecycle management (PLM), Product Safety Act requirements, and process documentation (work instructions, control plans)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and use measurement/control equipment, along with strong MS Office skills
