Customer Quality Assurance Engineer - 12m Inside IR35 Contractor

Job Summary
Manage customer non-conformances and act as the primary quality liaison between business programs, manufacturing functions, and the customer to ensure design and production standards meet EASA, CAA, and regulatory requirements. Champion improvement projects using APQP tools including PPAP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC to drive defect prevention and root cause analysis across engineering, configuration, and supply chain teams. Oversee NCR closeout, facilitate corrective actions, and validate technical documentation for continued airworthiness under Part 21J and Part 21G airworthiness requirements. Support design reviews and audit methodologies to maintain compliance with ISO9001 and AS9100 standards while serving as the escalation point for product quality matters. Work full-time in Pitstone, Hertfordshire on an Inside IR35 basis for 12 months.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in aerospace, science, or engineering
- 3 to 5 years' experience in aerospace industry or equivalent at engineering, design & development, or quality positions
- Knowledge of ISO9001, AS9100 QMS standards deployment and implementation
- Understanding of EASA/ CAA part 21J and Part 21G
- Experience in internal and external audit and auditing techniques
- APQP Tools knowledge with proficiency demonstrated working with PPAP, FMEA and MSA
- Problem solving proficiency including 8D, RCCA, FRACA with Six Sigma DMAIC principles
- Configuration and data management experience
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, CAD models and technical specifications
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to communicate technical, complex issues effectively
- Ability to solve complex problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Experience with working in a new production environment
