Job Summary
Supervise the Support team for customer pick-ups, including training, delegating tasks, and providing feedback during busy seasons. Address customer concerns professionally, load vehicles with purchases, and stock outdoor products like firewood and soil. During holidays, cut and secure Christmas trees for delivery. Facilitate deliveries of heavy items and specialty goods to customer homes, coordinate vendor pickups, and schedule routes using computer software. Assist with receiving and storing cement, stone, and garden statues. Maintain a valid driver's license to operate a F450 Super Duty vehicle and lift 50+ pounds. Work full-time year-round shifts, with flexibility for extended hours during peak seasons.
Required Qualifications
- Previous work experience as a Resident Assistant, Shift Lead, Lead Tutor, Head Caddy, Park District Supervisor, Camp Counselor, Head Lifeguard, other leadership experience including for collegiate clubs and teams, supervising student workers, delivery driving, landscape work, retail or other related experience
- Outstanding customer service skills
- An unflappable service mindset and a collaborative, friendly and helpful team nature
- Enjoy: being outdoors, supervising students in their first job, working with some physicality, using computer skills and working with scheduling programs
- A valid driver's license, clean driving record, and qualified to drive a F450 Super Duty vehicle
- The ability to lift 50+ pounds, and become forklift certified
- Being comfortable working actively and being on your feet for 8 or 9 hour shifts
- Ability to work varied hours and/or days as the needs of our seasonal business dictates
- Strong computer abilities in order to efficiently use our software to build routes
- Proven history of being safe and reliable
- Being open to working 6 days during the height of our busy seasons
