Job Summary
Provide pre/post-sales applications engineering support to enable semiconductor foundry services across BCD, Analog/Mixed Signal CMOS, CIS, & RF processes. Directly communicate with customers and engineering design groups to present and interpret design, application, and service information. Forge multi-level engineering and management relationships with customers, partners, and internal staff while providing technical support to field sales team members. Collaborate with technology development teams to identify engineering possibilities, limitations, and cost versus performance issues. Assist customers in device usage challenges and complex device testing, and help identify new applications and markets for existing foundry processes. Share new information and methods with cross-functional teams to achieve organizational goals. Requires a BSEE/MSEE degree, three+ years of applications engineering experience, and some international travel.
Required Qualifications
- BSEE/MSEE degree or equivalent
- 3+ years experience as an applications engineer (field or factory) in a high-tech company
- Team player with good communications skills and a strong customer service orientation as well as the ability to execute to a plan
- San Jose/Silicon Valley area-based role
- US (mostly Silicon Valley) and some international travel. ~10%
- The ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to a variety of engineering and management audiences is essential
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in a semiconductor manufacturing or ASIC design environment
- Deep knowledge of CMOS process technology for logic, mixed-signal and system-on-chip implementations as well as EDA tools and IP & cell libraries
- Preference will be given to a self-starter with the capability to get things done in a complex global business environment without direct supervision
