Job Summary
Field Service Engineer role as a Customer Engineer at Applied Materials involves installing, maintaining, and upgrading equipment at customer sites worldwide; perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems; coordinate and communicate with customers to ensure smooth operations; troubleshoot hardware and use diagnostic techniques; read electrical and mechanical schematics; represent Applied Materials professionally and adhere to safety and on-site guidelines; requires collaboration with global customers and on-site visits.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering (hardware-related preferred)
- Willingness to learn to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics
- Clear and effective written/verbal communication skills with emphasis on documenting details
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Basic mechanical aptitude and knowledge in pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum, or thermodynamics
- Knowledge of hand tools and proper usage, including a digital multimeter
