Job Summary
Development Chemist role focused on customer-facing development opportunities in UV coatings for the Building Materials market. Responsibilities include managing water-based, solvent-based, and UV 100% solids color product lines, acting as a liaison to manufacturing to address QC questions and maintain formula alignment, designing and executing raw material tests, formulating and testing new ideas to improve coating properties, supporting UV customers beyond flooring (e.g., window/door, furniture, cabinetry), maintaining pigments/raw materials for supply security, performing color matching and specification testing, collaborating with sales to convey product attributes, creating formulation guidelines for easy color matching across sites, and communicating results through written/verbal summaries, reports, and presentations to internal and external customers. Qualifications emphasize a Bachelor's degree in a related chemistry/engineering field; advanced degrees preferred; 5-7+ years coatings formulation and laboratory experience. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Coatings Science, or Chemical Engineering or global equivalent in related discipline
- Master's degree, PhD, or global equivalent a plus
- 5 to 7 or more years of coatings formulation experience and proven laboratory experience
