Job Summary
Remote Customer Care Specialist supporting Ameren Illinois Energy Efficiency Program; handles inbound calls, energy education, rebates, scheduling home energy assessments, reviews energy audit reports, coordinates with contractors, and uses the Customer Management System for data entry and follow-up. Responsibilities include educating customers on energy efficiency options (behavioral changes, programmable thermostat training, DIY upgrades), reviewing and assisting with rebate forms, coordinating with contractors for insulation/air sealing or other work, tracking activities, reporting, and aligning with related departments. Requires strong communication, building science knowledge, proficiency with Microsoft Office, ability to navigate energy advisor workflows, and the capacity to travel within the service area for occasional office visits in Peoria, IL.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent with 1+ year customer service experience or equivalent
- Ability to travel within the service territory as needed
- Demonstrated fluency in English language, both written and oral
- Experience with or strong knowledge of building science principles
- Expertise with or ability to learn web-based software Microsoft Office
- Strong listening, oral and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate with clients and co-workers in a friendly, positive, respectful manner
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor, even under pressure
- Self-motivated and driven to deliver on goals
- Strong organizational and time management skills
