Customer and Network Support Technician

Job Summary

Monitor the network and resolve customer service trouble issues by receiving phone calls and trouble tickets from Tier I teams, managed customers, and partners. Isolate customer problems using various systems and tools, either resolving them or escalating to Tier III resources. Operate the Network Operation Center and manage all Tier II support escalations for ACS products including Wireline, Wireless, Enterprise, Internet, and Long-Distance suites. Install, operate, and maintain digital telephone switches, transport systems, cell sites, and network management platforms. This role involves traveling by air, land, and sea to deliver service to remote Alaska communities as we build the state's fastest fiber internet.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • Valid driver's license
  • Vendor specific training and/or certifications
  • Four (4) years training in a relevant telephone apprentice program or equivalent experience leading to journeyman level performance in this specialty
  • Two (2) years experience in the skills and work this position will typically perform
  • Ability to travel by Air, Land and Sea by commercial and non-commercial means to deliver service to Alaska Communications Customers located in remote areas of Alaska
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment suitability assessment
  • Successful completion of a DOT or non-DOT drug test
  • Medical Certification or CDL (if performing duties of a Field Technician outside of Anchorage)
