Job Summary
Build custom stair parts including treads, curbing, and balusters within allotted time frames while adhering to Southern Staircase quality standards. Verify specifications by measuring completed components and resolve assembly problems by altering dimensions or notifying supervisors for additional resources. Maintain equipment operational status through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, and following manufacturer instructions. Request needed materials from the warehouse, conserve resources, and contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results. Ensure a safe and clean working environment by complying with company policies and safety regulations. This full-time warehouse role requires exceptional woodworking skills, experience with hand and power tools, and the ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- Good woodworking skills, trim carpentry
- Experience with hand tools (jigsaw, skill saw, nail guns, sanders)
- Ability to operate power tools, table saw, band saw, chop and miter saw and other woodworking related tools
- Ability to read tape measure and perform basic math accurately
- Ability to identify various wood species
- Ability to work in a production type environment with some heavy lifting required
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at a time
- Must be able to traverse and access all areas of the warehouse
- Some travel may be required for this position (<5%)
