Job Summary
This Custom Packaging Design Engineer Co-Op at ORBIS Corporation involves supporting the Custom Design/Engineering Team in creating packaging designs and prototypes based on customer specifications. Responsibilities include leading and managing assigned projects, providing timely design samples, ensuring designs are manufacturable from concept to production, fabricating prototypes for customer approval, and addressing issues during assembly. Candidates should have proficiency in SolidWorks, the ability to work independently and in a team, and strong communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- Junior or Senior pursuing a Technical or Bachelor’s degree in Plastic Engineering Technology, Packaging Engineering or other related degree
- Knowledge of plastic processing, mechanical engineering, and packaging engineering
- Ability to interpret blueprints
- Demonstrated ability to use a computer and Design software programs (AutoCAD/Solidworks)
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of automotive/vehicle products
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to travel to Manufacturing plants
- Accuracy and attention to detail
Additional Requirements
- The incumbent must be currently enrolled in post-secondary education at the time of employment.
