Job Summary
The Custom Packaging Design Engineer Co-Op will support the Custom Design/Engineering Team by creating packaging designs and prototypes based on customer specifications. Responsibilities include managing project timelines, providing design samples, ensuring manufacturable designs, fabricating prototypes for approval, and demonstrating a commitment to safety. The role requires proficiency in SolidWorks and the ability to communicate effectively, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in post-secondary education
- Pursuing a Technical or Bachelor’s degree in Plastic Engineering Technology, Packaging Engineering, or related degree
- Demonstrated ability to use a computer and design software programs (AutoCAD/SolidWorks)
- Ability to work both independently and in a team setting
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of plastic processing
- Mechanical engineering knowledge
- Ability to interpret blueprints
- Strong communication skills
- Knowledge of automotive/vehicle products
