Job Summary
Blend products according to recommended rates and apply fertilizers, crop protection products, and Ag lime to fields while inspecting plants for weeds, insects, or disease. Set up material handling, blending, and application equipment, then repair and rebuild mobile machinery as needed. Maintain inventory control, turn in daily application records, and collect samples for identification. Walk fields following standard sampling patterns to count pests and record soil sample information. Perform pre and post trip inspections, adhere to safety policies, and maintain the appropriate professional image. Requires CDL and commercial applicator's license.
Required Qualifications
- Normally requires previous applicator or related experience
- Training to demonstrate the ability to custom apply fertilizers
- Training to demonstrate the ability to custom apply crop protection products
- Training to demonstrate the ability to inspect fields
- Training to demonstrate the ability to take soil samples
- Training to demonstrate the ability to do minor equipment maintenance
- Proven professional communication skills
- Customer service skills
- Ability to comprehend simple instructions
- Ability to communicate one-on-one with customers
- Ability to communicate in small groups with employees
- Demonstrated time management skills
- Basic math skills including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
