Job Summary
As a Custom Applicator Trainee in Elgin, ND you will gain hands-on experience across grain, agronomy, and feed while working toward obtaining your CDL and pesticide applicator license within six months. You’ll perform general labor duties and learn the full scope of operations, including applying fertilizer and crop protection products (may require a high clearance sprayer or floater), picking up and delivering products to customers, assisting the sales staff, educating customers on products and techniques, and performing warehouse tasks such as driving a loader or forklift and doing maintenance and inspections. Training provided includes crop protection product mixing and operation of application equipment. Compensation is facility-based and may include other earnings such as bonuses or incentives; actual pay varies by position and qualifications. CHS is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of Agriculture Production, Operations, and/or Agriculture Application
- Must meet minimum age requirement
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English and understand highway traffic signs and signal
- Maintain or be able to obtain a CDL and DOT medical card
- Ability to work additional hours, be available for overnight stays and occasional weekends to meet business demands
