Job Summary
Mop, dust, sweep, and vacuum classrooms, restrooms, and hallways while washing windows, walls, and woodwork. Wax, buff, and scrub floors; paint, remove garbage, and change light bulbs. Manage snow removal and de-icing around entryways during school days, evening activities, and meetings. Clean and disinfect rest rooms and prepare spaces for programs. Maintain small lawns adjacent to buildings and notify supervisors of major repairs to lighting, heating, and ventilation systems. Work independently using mechanical equipment and small lawns watered adjacent to buildings.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
- First aid card or willingness to obtain
- Ability to lift and/or move 25 to 50 pounds
- Ability to assist, move, or restrain students with greater weight when required to intervene in student safety issues
- Ability to sit, lift, carry, move about, hear and speak
- Ability to perform extensive work at a computer display terminal

Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual in Spanish
