Van Meter Community School District Custodian Van Meter Community School District is seeking a dedicated Custodian to join our team. Anticipated hours are 2:00-10:00 PM with flexible scheduling as needed depending on events. Van Meter Community School District has been identified as an Iowa Top Workplaces winner in both 2024 and 2025 and is a progressive growing district located 10 miles west of West Des Moines. A comprehensive benefits package is offered with this position. Employees with proof of existing health insurance can choose to receive a monthly cash stipend in lieu of insurance. Employees receive 15 days of sick leave and 2 personal days each year. This position also includes paid vacation. Duties & Responsibilities: Communicate with supervisor about daily team tasks/resource allocation Work with team to prioritize duties and review task completion Clean/sanitize desk/table tops, door handles, restroom fixtures Clean glass Dusts horizontal surfaces, clocks, overhead screens, and blinds Wet mopping of floors, spot cleaning of carpets and hard flooring Assists with deep cleaning during break periods Trash removal Snow removal Grounds keeping Assists with delivery of supplies Properly maintains equipment Performs other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Ability to assist a team Ability to oversee work completion Ability to communicate effectively with a team Ability to be flexible and have a positive work ethic Ability to follow both written and oral instructions Ability to perform multiple tasks on a schedule Minimum Starting Pay: $20/hour Required Education: High school diploma or GED If you have questions, please contact Chas Funaro at chas.funaro@vmbulldogs.com.
