Job Summary
Maintain district facilities by cleaning floors, chalkboards, windows, furniture, equipment, and restrooms according to a set schedule. Keep school grounds, sidewalks, driveways, and play areas neat while complying with local laws for trash disposal. Perform preventive maintenance on buildings, regulate HVAC systems, and make minor repairs; report major issues to the principal. Assist with lunchroom setup, facility arrangements for special events, and opening/closing procedures including checking exit doors and panic bolts. Operate cleaning equipment, lift heavy items over 45 pounds, and follow all safety protocols for tools, chemicals, and emergency procedures. Work irregular hours with frequent standing, lifting, and exposure to extreme temperatures.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read and understand instructions for cleaning, maintenance, and safety procedures
- Knowledge of minor repair techniques and building and grounds maintenance
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment
- Ability to properly handle cleaning supplies
- Ability to lift 45 pounds and over on a daily basis
