Job Summary
Sweep, dust, vacuum, scrub, wax, and polish floors and surfaces; wash windows, walls, woodwork, and equipment to prescribed standards. Empty trash receptacles, perform minor repairs, move furniture, replace light bulbs, and inspect fire equipment while maintaining records. Secure the facility by locking and unlocking as required, and handle emergency custodial duties for principals, teachers, and staff. Report safety and security hazards for major repairs expeditiously. Work 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM, 248 work days annually, earning a minimum base pay of $19.01.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read and write English as it pertains to job functions
- Satisfactory criminal background check
- Must be able to stand and walk constantly on various floor surfaces
- Must be able to push/pull force of up to 100 pounds for various machines
- Must be able to stand constantly and walk frequently, lifting items of various sizes, up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to climb ladders
- Must be able to handle fumes, odors, chemicals, blood-borne pathogens, workplace restrictions, cold and/or hot temperatures, and loud noises
