Job Summary
Sweep, mop, and scrub floors; clean and disinfect restrooms, offices, and classrooms; wash windows, vacuum carpets, and shampoo carpets. Empty trash and recycle bins, collect garbage, and shovel snow to keep grounds clean. Move furniture and equipment, arrange tables for events, and perform minor maintenance like unstopping sinks or replacing light bulbs. Secure the building by locking doors, closing windows, and setting alarms. Operate hand and power equipment while lifting up to 50 lbs independently. Work different shift times as required throughout the year. Earn $32.13/hour with benefits eligibility based on 630 hours worked.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED or strong evidence of reading, writing and communication skills
- Two (2) years of verifiable, paid commercial building custodial experience
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently and over 50 lbs with assistance
- Ability to do sustained physical work
- Ability to move with agility
- Ability to work while standing on a stepladder and/or lift
- Ability to work different shift times as required throughout the year
- Ability to perform minor maintenance and repair work
- Ability to meet and maintain punctuality and attendance expectations
- Verification of identity and authorization to work in the United States
- Satisfactory results of background checks with prior employers/professional references
- Satisfactory outcome of a criminal history background check
- Satisfactory outcome of sexual misconduct information from prior school district employers
- Approval by the Bellevue School Board
