Job Summary
Organize, schedule, and assign daily work routines for custodial staff while supervising their quantity and quality of output. Conduct frequent inspections of assigned areas to ensure service level standards are met using computer-aided systems. Provide on-the-job training for new hires regarding equipment and chemical usage, and coach current employees. Manage equipment and consumables by coordinating with department management to ensure adequate supply. Investigate accidents, determine causes of injuries, and report all concerns. Coordinate major cleaning operations and assist with building emergencies such as fire/flood clean-up or snow/ice removal during and after working hours.
Required Qualifications
- Custodial experience
- General cleaner management experience
- Supervisory experience
- Forklift experience
- Must be able to plan and perform major cleaning operations
- Must be able to supervise assigned work projects
- Must be able to coordinate major work projects with the manager or assistant manager
- Must be able to follow up on projects
- Must be able to communicate effectively in regards to requests, work orders and any other element of the job
- Must be able to coordinate and provide assistance for building emergencies (such as fire/flood clean-up, snow/ice removal, etc.)
- Must be able to work during and after working hours
- Must be able to organize, schedule, assign and perform daily work routines
- Must be able to lead the team for safety in the work area
- Must be able to train all employees in safety related issues
- Must be able to discuss all safety issues and provide proper personal protective equipment
- Must be able to investigate accidents and make determinations as to the cause of injuries
- Must be able to report all concerns and injuries
- Must be able to provide on the job training for new employees with regard to every phase of their job
- Must be able to provide continuing training using on the job coaching methods for current employees
- Must be able to manage equipment and consumables
- Must be able to work with department management team to ensure adequate supply of products and chemicals are readily available for staff use
- Must be able to supervise Custodians on a daily basis with regard to quantity and quality of work
- Must be able to inspect all assigned areas frequently to insure that individual and building inspections meet service level quality standards
- Must be able to utilize computer aided inspection systems and other department provided tools
- Must be able to discipline and counsel staff in disciplinary actions
- Must be able to advise office when verbal and written disciplinary actions have been given
- Must be able to jointly meet with employee and manager when problem warrants written warnings
