Job Summary
Maintain school buildings and grounds by cleaning interiors, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming all surfaces and fixtures. Perform groundskeeping tasks including raking, lawn mowing, and snow removal with equipment. Secure the building daily by checking doors, windows, and lights, and assist with fire safety inspections. Report maintenance issues immediately and manage custodial supply inventories. Operate snow removal machinery as trained and respond to emergency situations on-site.
Required Qualifications
- Certification of good health signed by a licensed physician certifying that the person can meet the physical demands of the position
- Willingness to assist supervisors in attaining the goals for cleanliness of a building
- Demonstrated aptitude for successful fulfillment of assigned performance responsibilities
- Ability to communicate with others effectively in written and/or oral communications
- Ability to maintain appropriate neatness in dress
- Ability to maintain complete confidentiality of student, employee information and observations from the work dat
- Responsibility assumed by the employee for his or her actions
- Attitude towards work, co-workers, and the organization
- Willingness and ability to work with and for others
- Success in dealing with students, parents, and the general public
