Job Summary
Public Storage is hiring a Property Care Specialist (Custodian) to maintain cleanliness and brand standards across multiple self-storage properties. Responsibilities include cleaning and maintaining interior/exterior areas, performing general maintenance (mopping, sweeping, changing light bulbs, minor plumbing, painting, landscaping), conducting daily storage unit inspections and preparing spaces for rent, cleaning vacated units and kiosks, disposing of debris, maintaining restrooms, moving furniture and equipment as needed, reporting maintenance or safety issues, and traveling between properties as required. The role requires independent work, physical tasks (lifting up to 35 pounds, outdoor duties), and adherence to safety policies. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are needed for multi-property duties.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with reliable personal transportation
- Ability to lift and move up to 35 pounds
- Ability to walk in/around facilities and spend time outdoors up to 50%
- Willingness to work at multiple properties and travel between locations
- Prior custodial or related experience preferred
- Flexibility to work any day including weekends and various shifts (8:00am–8:00pm)
- Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving and time-management skills
