Job Summary
Custodian needed to maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all assigned areas. Responsibilities include performing janitorial duties, operating motorized cleaning equipment, handling hazardous waste (collection, classification, sorting, storing, shipping, receiving, labeling, packaging), reporting incidents and hazards, complying with safety rules, working in a team, completing daily punch items, and upholding professional interaction with leaders, staff, and customers. Requires knowledge of cleaning methods and chemicals, ability to follow procedures, and willingness to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining a safe work environment. Shift is Monday–Friday, 4:00 PM–12:30 AM; compensation $14.00-$15.00/hour with SBM benefits; physical ability to lift up to 35 pounds and potential forklift certification and driver’s license considerations.
Required Qualifications
- No formal education requirement
- 3-6 months training or experience preferred; or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license may be required
- Safety training certification may be required
- Forklift certification may be required
- Ability to read and interpret instructions and procedures
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Bilingual a plus
