Job Summary
Sweep, dust, vacuum, scrub, wax, and polish floors and surfaces; wash windows, walls, woodwork, and equipment; empty trash receptacles; and perform minor repairs like replacing light bulbs. Inspect all fire equipment on campus and maintain inspection records, while securing the facility by locking and unlocking buildings as required. Handle emergency custodial duties for principals, teachers, and staff, and report safety or security hazards for major repairs in an expeditious manner. Work M-F from 1:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. with a base pay of $19.01, earning up to 5% performance pay and 1% education credit. Maintain a safe, clean, and attractive physical plant in accordance with Chandler Unified School District standards.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read and write English as it pertains to job functions
- Posession of, or ability to obtain, an IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Post-offer physical and drug screening test
- Ability to work extended periods of time in extreme temperatures (cold salad/sandwich prep, inventory for freezer & coolers)
- Positions in this classification typically require: stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing, walking, sitting, finger or manual dexterity, repetitive finger motion, speaking, hearing, seeing (with correction), focusing ability, or other factors applicable to the job
- Employee must be able to stand and walk constantly on various floor surfaces while performing various duties, including but not limited to push/pull force of up to 100 pounds for various machines
- Employee must stand constantly and walk frequently, lifting items of various sizes, up to 50 pounds
- Employees may be subject to travel, fumes, odors, chemicals, blood-borne pathogens, workplace restrictions, cold and/or hot temperatures, and loud noises
