Job Summary
Maintain district facilities by executing a cleaning schedule for floors, chalkboards, windows, furniture, equipment, and restrooms. Keep school grounds, sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, and play areas neat while complying with local laws for trash disposal. Perform preventive maintenance, make minor building repairs, and regulate HVAC systems to ensure safety and economical resource usage. Assist with lunchroom setup, move furniture, and support special events. Open and close the building daily, checking exit doors and panic bolts, while inspecting machines for safety and efficiency. Operate tools including buffers, strippers, vacuums, drills, and lawn equipment, lifting heavy items over 45 pounds. Follow established safety protocols, correct unsafe conditions, and report major repair needs to the principal.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read and understand instructions for cleaning, maintenance, and safety procedures
- Knowledge of minor repair techniques and building and grounds maintenance
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment
- Ability to properly handle cleaning supplies
- Ability to lift 45 pounds and over on a daily basis
- Ability to climb stairs/ladders
