Job Summary
Maintain the cleanliness of the center at all times, including bathrooms, offices, and common areas. Serve lunch to members if needed, sweep, mop, strip, and wax floors, and build, move, or replace furniture as required. Paint the center, perform minor repairs, clean appliances and equipment, remove dust from ventilation ducts, change light bulbs, wash fans, and remove garbage daily. Clear entryways of snow or debris for safe access and restock custodial supplies. Assist in bussing members at the front desk as a security checkpoint and notify the Director of needed supplies. Additional duties as assigned may occur, with occasional weekend, holiday, or evening hours required, including summer cooling center coverage. Locations may change if coverage is needed at another OAC or if the OAC is temporarily closed.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Excellent Interpersonal and Organizational Skills
- Experience with and knowledge of current cleaning methods
- Ability to work well independently and on a team
- Maturity and good judgment in relating to peers, partners, and families
- Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds
- Availability, dependability, and willingness to be flexible
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems and think strategically
- Occasional weekends, holidays and evening hours
- Locations changes may occur if coverage is needed at another OAC or the OAC is closed temporarily
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with Older Adults a plus
- Bilingual fluency (English/Spanish) desirable
