Job Summary
Custodian for Social Housing division; responsible for maintaining public areas and building in good repair, performing minor repairs (e.g., leaky faucets, blocked drains, replacing broken windows, lighting and painting), grounds maintenance including snow removal, operating and reporting on equipment (floor polisher, lawn tractor, snow blower, etc.), ensuring safety and security, maintaining firefighting equipment, assisting with tenant move-outs, and supporting inspections. Requires Grade 12, at least one year custodial experience, ability to work independently and in a team, strong interpersonal/organizational/communication skills, flexibility to work evenings/weekends, access to a vehicle, and participation in after-hours/on-call duties; on-site role in Westport, Ontario.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Grade 12 education
- Minimum one year experience in custodial/property maintenance
- Be self-sufficient, able to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to work independently and within a team-delivered organizational model
- Ability to demonstrate sensitivity and responsiveness to the needs of the community
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Ability to participate in after-hours, on-call program as scheduled
- Possession and maintenance of a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
