Job Summary
Strip and refinish floors, scrub, sweep, and mop hallways, dust furniture, and wash windows and woodwork. Clean restroom fixtures, walls, and floors daily, while replenishing tissues, towels, and soap. Maintain grounds and parking areas, sort recycling materials, replace light bulbs, and empty trash receptacles. Report damages or needed repairs to the head custodian or supervisor. Duties include lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, squatting, and walking backwards; job tasks may shift weekly based on department needs. This part-time custodian role ensures buildings remain safe, neat, and presentable through routine manual work and adherence to established cleaning schedules.
Required Qualifications
- Some knowledge of cleaning methods, material and equipment
- Willingness to learn skills in the use of custodial equipment used in routine cleaning
- Ability to understand and follow simple oral and written directions
- Dependable work experience
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to lift more than 50 pounds with assistance
- Ability to climb ladders up to 25 feet
