Job Summary
Strip and refinish floors, scrub, sweep, mop, and vacuum rooms and hallways. Clean restroom fixtures, walls, and floors daily while replenishing tissues, towels, and soap. Maintain grounds and parking areas, dust furniture, wash windows and woodwork, and replace light bulbs. Emptish wastebaskets, sort recycling materials, and lock/unlock doors. Report damages or repair needs to the head custodian or supervisor. Duties may include lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, squatting, and walking backwards, with shifts varying by department or school needs.
Required Qualifications
- Some knowledge of cleaning methods, material and equipment
- Willingness to learn skills in the use of custodial equipment used in routine cleaning
- Ability to understand and follow simple oral and written directions
- Dependable work experience
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to lift more than 50 pounds with assistance
- Ability to bend
- Ability to squat
- Ability to twist
- Ability to kneel
- Ability to crouch
- Ability to be on feet for extended periods of time
- Ability to walk backwards
- Ability to climb ladders up to 25 feet
