Job Summary
Clean, sanitize, and maintain agency buildings and equipment in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations while reporting malfunctions and unsafe conditions immediately. Operate janitorial and maintenance equipment, frequently traverse campus areas, and move heavy loads up to 100 pounds. Implement safety protocols including evacuating children and staff during emergencies, and participate in scheduled team meetings and operations. Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Maintain confidentiality in all child and program operations and demonstrate cultural sensitivity and emotional control in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, or equivalent
- First aid
- CPR
- Emergency behavior intervention
- 2 plus years of experience in janitorial or maintenance
- Knowledge of chemicals and reactions
- Safe and proper use of cleaning supplies and equipment
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen
- Pass random drug screens throughout employment
- Provide proof of work eligibility status upon request
- Pass a pre-employment and biennial criminal background checks
- Ability to respond sensitively and competently to the service population's cultural and socio-economic characteristics
- Ability to work collaboratively with other staff members, service providers and professionals
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret policy manuals and documents
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain emotional control and professional composure at all times
- Computer literacy required to meet the responsibilities of the position
- Ability to organize and plan work
- Ability to work effectively and without intensive supervision both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of all Compass Connections policies and procedures
- Must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S.
- Must be available for evenings, weekends and holidays as needed and as requested by the supervisor
- Must comply with required dress code at all times
