Job Summary
Perform daily cleaning tasks in classrooms, offices, hallways, cafeterias, and gymnasiums, including sweeping, mopping, sanitizing, and maintaining various flooring types. Ensure restrooms are sanitized and stocked, empty trash bins, and monitor cleaning supply inventory. Execute minor maintenance like changing light bulbs and report issues to personnel while following safety guidelines. Support school events by setting up and cleaning up after special occasions. Work part-time, approximately 20-25 hours per week Monday through Friday, with flexibility between 3:30pm and 12:00am, following the school calendar. Eligible for tuition discount and paid personal time off.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Model a life of personal commitment to Jesus Christ by exemplifying a lifestyle that honors God and actively participating in a local, Bible-believing church
- Must be willing to affirm and abide by the Schools' Statement of Faith
- Knowledge of basic cleaning techniques and equipment
- Previous custodial or janitorial experience
- Ability to work well in a school environment with students and staff present
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness and hygiene
- Must be reliable and punctual
- Evening or weekend work may be required for events
- Must be able to pass a National and Washington State Patrol background check
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods of time
- Ability to climb ladders and step stools to reach high surfaces or change light bulbs
- Ability to safely operate standard janitorial equipment, including vacuums, floor-cleaning machines, carts, and other cleaning tools
- Ability to work in environments that may involve dust, odors, cleaning chemicals, temperature changes, and occasional exposure to bodily fluids or other potentially hazardous materials
- Must be able to lift and carry 25-50 pounds
