Job Summary
Custodian responsible for daily cleaning and safety conditions of all assigned facilities, performing cleaning duties, grounds keeping (including snow removal), and routine maintenance tasks such as painting, minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical repairs; supports event setups, uses cleaning solutions to disinfect surfaces, cleans windows and restrooms, restocks toiletries, and reports repairs promptly, with a strong emphasis on diversity, safety, and adaptability.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to exercise independent judgement
- Must be flexible and adaptable
- Ability to read, write, understand and communicate in English
- Working knowledge of building cleaning practices, supplies and equipment
- Familiarity with operation and maintenance of building systems
- Must be thorough and dependable
- Must pass any DOE clearance as required
- Ability to work extra hours and overtime as needed
- Ability to perform routine maintenance tasks including painting, minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, mechanical repairs
- Ability to perform grounds keeping tasks including snow removal and salting
- Ability to follow directions and attend required trainings
- Ability to relate to persons of diverse backgrounds
