Job Summary
Custodian position responsible for cleaning duties in a school environment, including floor mopping, sweeping, polishing, trash/recycle removal, restroom sanitation and restocking, use of cleaning equipment and chemicals, adherence to safety rules, and ability to read and understand instructions. Role requires physical labor (up to 50 lbs), ability to work evenings (3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m.) for 40 hours per week across 260 days annually, with supervision by the Maintenance Director. Requires a High School diploma or equivalent and familiarity with health and safety regulations; emphasizes independent work, attention to detail, and effective communication with staff and students. Location is Morenci, Michigan (US).
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions
- Ability to perform physical labor including lifting up to 50 lbs
- Ability to follow safety rules and district policies
- Ability to work 40 hours per week, 3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m.
- Ability to work independently and with staff
- Knowledge of cleaning materials, equipment, and methods
- Ability to read and understand manufacturing or instructional material
