Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive cleaning and building services in public, work, executive, and command areas. Clean and disinfect restrooms, showers, and kitchenettes; scrub tile, vacuum carpets, and polish furniture. Perform routine glass, mirror, and wall cleaning, including elevator, escalator, and stairwell maintenance. Manage trash, recycling, and ashtray disposal while maintaining orderly tools and supplies. Assist with inventory, equipment maintenance, and special event setup. Remove snow and ice from exterior areas as required. Comply with all agency policies, dress codes, and safety procedures. Perform emergency cleaning and special restoration work as needed. Maintain alertness and safety in dusty spaces or adverse weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Six months of custodial work experience
- Custodial training
- Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time
- Ability to go up and down stairs
- Ability to reach above the head, bend, kneel, and stoop
- Ability to lift, carry, and push up to 25 lbs. regularly and up to 50 lbs. as needed
- Ability to work in dusty spaces or adverse weather conditions
- Ability to see details on the floor, above the head, or on surfaces
- Ability to work with limited direct supervision
- Ability to follow directions and focus on tasks
- Ability to report problems or relate information
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and with safety always in mind
- Ability to understand and comply with safety procedures and environmental requirements
- Ability to use and care for equipment and cleaning supplies properly
- Ability to operate machinery without posing a safety hazard to self or others
- Ability to notice and report changes in work space conditions
- Ability to notify supervisor when equipment or supplies are needed to perform task
- Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner with numerous interruptions
- Ability to attend work regularly according to assigned schedule and company policies
- Ability to work a flexible schedule as required—days, nights, holidays, and weekends
- Ability to attend and participate in training and work related meetings
- Ability to deal with others in a positive, enthusiastic, respectful, and courteous manner
- Ability to comply with all building, security, and company policies and procedures
- Pass and comply with all building and security requirements and procedures
Desired Qualifications
