Job Summary
Conduct daily custodial duties at Madrona Elementary School, including cleaning methods, materials, and equipment for school housekeeping. Exercise care with cleaning materials for different building surfaces and skillfully use electrical and hand appliances. Make minor repairs and adjustments to structures and equipment while following oral and written instructions. Maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, students, and the general public. Requires physical strength for eight hours of manual tasks and high moral standards for association with children. Preferably six months of experience in school building care. Submit resume, letter of interest, and letters of recommendation; undergo fingerprinting and pre-employment drug screening.
Required Qualifications
- Working knowledge of cleaning methods, materials and equipment in school housekeeping and ability to use them with skill and efficiency
- Ability to exercise care in the use of cleaning materials for different types of building surfaces
- Skill in the use of electrical and hand appliances ordinarily used in housekeeping activities
- Ability to make minor repairs and adjustments to structures and equipment
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Physical strength to withstand the strain of performing eight hours of manual tasks
- High moral standards and character necessary for association with children
- Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with other staff members, students and general public
- Preferably six months of experience in work relating to the care of school buildings and grounds
- Ability to understand, interpret and follow instructions
- High School Diploma or GED Required
- Person filling this position will have to be fingerprinted
- Pre-employment drug screening will be required
