Job Summary
Custodian position with MAC PROPERTY MANAGEMENT LLC in Chicago, IL. Responsible for cleaning residential building common areas and surrounding premises, including floors, furniture, mirrors, doors, windows, carpets, and restrooms; sweep, mop, dust, vacuum, and restock supplies; operate and maintain commercial-grade custodial equipment (vacuum cleaners, floor buffers/polishers, carpet cleaners); ensure safety by locking doors after hours and reporting maintenance issues; position requires drug testing and is full-time, located in Chicago, IL.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or foreign equivalent
- Experience performing custodial duties in residential, commercial, or institutional settings, including cleaning multiple floor types with appropriate tools and chemical products
- Experience operating and maintaining commercial-grade custodial equipment (vacuums, floor buffers/polishers, carpet cleaning machines) with routine inspection, repair, and safe storage procedures
- Experience performing minor repairs to building fixtures and furniture (replacing light bulbs, tightening hardware, assembling furniture, adjusting or replacing plumbing components)
- Knowledge of safety protocols for handling cleaning chemicals, including PPE use, ventilation checks, hazard labeling, and spill prevention
- Experience managing cleaning supply inventories and implementing waste disposal and recycling practices in accordance with environmental standards
